Battle of hard road part 2 by Adrian Curry
I tuned to the battle of hard road as Kilbourne traveled to Scioto in a COVID-delayed game from last month. This was a low-scoring affair as both teams struggled to score on the offensive end. Kilbourne really struggled offensively and were down 8-2 at the end of the first quarter. The 2nd quarter saw Scioto start to establish themselves inside and were able to get out and run leading to easy baskets. Scioto’s defense was good and really wouldn’t allow the wolves any great looks at the basket. The Irish led the wolves 21-9 at the half. The 3rd quarter saw kilbourne try to claw their way back in it thanks to Molly Humphrey and Mara McGlone but scioto had an answer and was able to hold a 29-28 lead at the end of the 3rd quarter. The final quarter saw Kilbourne make a run and get within 5 at 33-28 but that was as close as they would get as Scioto closed it out at the line and would win 38-28. With the win Dublin Scioto moves to 7-5 while Worthington Kilbourne drops to 8-6 on the season. Ashleigh Humphrey and Mara McGlone led Kilbourne with 7 in the losing effort.
