Dominant at Jerome

Dominant at Jerome by Adrian curry

The last stop of the week took me to Dublin Jerome as I took in the Celtics take on Delaware in a fascinating occ crossover matchup. The Celtics come off a win last night over Thomas worthington at home while Delaware was coming off a tough home loss to undefeated Westerville north. Talented players on both sides as Delaware is led by Chloe Jeffers and Alexis amabile while Jerome is led by amaris lowery. This game didn’t disappoint as early on Delaware was able to set the tone early as they jumped out to a 9-5 lead but the Celtics came back led by maria holscher and amaris lowery to grab a 12-9 lead at the end of the first quarter. The 2nd quarter went back and forth in momentum swings but a late 10-2 run by Jerome carried them to a 28-21 halftime lead. The 3rd quarter got very physical and very chippy as both teams played hard on both ends of the floor. The Celtics were able to seize control thanks to a dominating 3rd quarter that at one point saw them led by 14 points before a 7-0 run fueled by Chloe Jeffers cut the lead to 40-33 at the end of the 3rd quarter. The 4th quarter saw the dominance of amaris lowery as she was hitting from the perimeter, on drives to the basket and the midrange as well. A key sequence that killed can’t pacers momentum was a block by maya Byers out of bounds and she turned towards the Jerome player leading to a technical foul being called. At the time Delaware has momentum and was trailing by only 7 with plenty of time left. This turned the whole game and Jerome rode the momentum and a ton of made free throws from amaris lowery. Jerome beat Delaware 60-48. With the win Jerome improves to 5-7 while Delaware drops to 8-6.
