Stepping out of your comfort zone by Adrian curry of ibt report
I tuned in earlier this evening to the battle between the Vikings of northland and the panthers of Hilliard Darby. Both teams coming off impressive wins the night before. This was a true measuring stick for both teams. Early on both teams played with nerves but then the panthers were able to start turning the Vikings over and getting easy layups inside and open looks from the perimeter. The panthers were able to grab a 13-9 lead at the end of the first quarter. The 2nd quarter continued northland’s miscues that lead to easy baskets and also great ball movement against northland’s pressure defense. The panthers had stretched the lead out to double digits but Brianna hamilton as well as clutch shooting off the bench from ayah Duffy kept northland in it trailing 28-22 at the half. The 3rd quarter was sluggish early on but then the panthers turned up the defensive pressure causing turnovers and the Vikings couldn’t make anything from the field for the majority of the quarter. This led to a 21-1 run to close out the quarter. The panthers limited the Vikings to 3 3rd quarter points. The Vikings played much better in the 4th quarter but by the game was not in doubt. The panthers would go on to win 54-36. The panthers with the win improves to 8-8 while the Vikings dropped to 5-2 on the season.
